On January 23, Perry Center Director Dr. Paul J. Angelo presented the 2024 William J. Perry Award for Excellence in Security and Defense Education to Chief of Defense Brigadier General Werner Kioe A Sen in Paramaribo, Suriname. The Perry Award honors individuals and institutions whose sustained efforts in security and defense education have advanced cooperative approaches to security, promoted transparency, and strengthened institutional capacity across the Americas.

Under the auspices of US Embassy Santiago and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile's (PUC-Chile) Law Science and Technology Program on "Truth and Democracy: Empowering Media Against Disinformation and Digital Violence" project, Professor Celina Realuyo participated in a series of workshops aimed at educating and empowering journalists, students, and key media stakeholders with the skills and knowledge to identify, assess, and counter disinformation and online violence in Chile.
