“Conversaciones Entre Egresados” (Alumni Conversations) is a virtual alumni-led activity which seeks to generate camaraderie and support a diversity of perspectives while discussing topics of mutual interest. These sessions are currently conducted in Spanish only. Previous discussions have included topics such as regional security challenges, the Brasilia Declaration from the 2022 CDMA, and the evolution of cybersecurity.
With over 6,000 alumni across the Western Hemisphere, many chapters, networks, and other community groups have been created. These self-organized groups are as diverse as the alumni community itself, and each determine their unique focus and purpose. However, all are important points of connection to the Perry Center and serve to support the local alumni network.
Many countries have a dedicated point of contact which alumni can connect with by visiting the password protected Community. To find out more about activities and opportunities in your country, contact your local alumni community.
Alumni Day is an annual celebration to recognize the impact and strength of the alumni network with a focus on community, cooperation, and leadership. The concept was initially conceived by a working group of alumni from 14 different countries in the region. The idea was quickly adopted by the director of the Perry Center, and March 27 was designated Alumni Day in commemoration of the graduation date of the Perry Center’s first residential course in 1998.
The Outreach and Alumni Office engages with networks on a regular, recurring basis both virtually and in person. Perry Center alumni are invited to country meetings, virtual events such as webinars, and in-region alumni-led events. To ensure you receive information about upcoming events add chdsalumni@ndu.edu to your contact list.
The Community is a password restricted area where Perry Center course graduates have access to additional resources such as network contact information, alumni-only events, private Facebook group access, and more. If you are a Perry Center graduate and have not received your password by July 1, 2023, please contact us at chdsalumni@ndu.edu.
