The first Alumni Leaders Summit took place on September 18-22, 2023, at the Perry Center in Washington DC. This workshop was attended by twenty-nine participants from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. This leadership activity was designed to support the development of strong alumni cohorts and encourage the growth of chapters and in-country networks, facilitate new connections, and provide leadership tools for the benefit of the entire alumni community. Utilizing case studies, team building exercises, round table discussions, and presentations from distinguished guest speakers, participants discussed challenges and opportunities in their communities as well as developed plans for local and regional projects. One of the results of this collaboration is the podcast “La Voz Hemisferica” @LaVozHemisferica on YouTube which offers a space for all voices in the alumni network to discuss emerging topics.
