On 5-6 Sept 2024 Dr. William Godnick, Perry Center Dean of Academic Affairs, particpated in the 2nd Annual Conference of Latin American Police Academies in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico bringing together experts from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and Panama with more than 400 participants from police academies all over Mexico. The event was opened by both the Mayor and the Secretary of Security of the Municipality of Leon. Dr. Godnick presented on the importance of educating future police on inter-agency collaboration and international cooperation. This conference is an initiative launched by WJPC alumnus and Director General of the Leon Police Academy Hector Quilantan who as inspired after his participation in the Perry Center’s 2023 course on the Strategic Implications on Human Rights and the Rule of Law. Five additional alumni from Mexico and Chile contributed to the conference.
