On May 25 the Perry Center welcomed a group of students from Colombia's War College (ESDEG), a close institutional partner of the Center.
GELAVEX has as its objectives to discuss and propose lines of action to prevent and counteract money laundering in the Americas; and to promote and procure programs, training and technical assistance projects to strengthen regional efforts against money laundering linked to transnational organized crime.
The course, designed and directed by Perry Center professor Dr. Patrick Paterson, focused on five themes related to climate change: the science, the threats, the solutions, the role of the security forces and the human impact. A second iteration of this course is scheduled to take place from July 10 - 21, 2023.
The Center welcomed 45 military and civilian strategic studies students from Guatemala's Armed Forces Education Command (COSEDE) for a discussion on the challenges of hemispheric security.
Dr. Luis Bitencourt and Professor Celina Realuyo briefed 43 officers from the Mexican National Defense College on defense and security threats to the Western Hemisphere.
