On October 17 we launched our 2022 Strategy and Defense Policy Course, welcoming 48 participants from 14 countries in the Americas. The course, led by Dr. David Spencer, offers theoretical foundations and analytical tools to facilitate participation in security and defense strategy and policy formation, implementation, and oversight. “For us here at the Perry Center, democratic governance is the cornerstone of everything we do,” noted Dr. Paul Angelo, Director of the Perry Center. “But beyond the theory of democratization, we recognize that democracy must deliver. And the foundation of effective policy, in any sector of government, is its strategic design.”
