Perry Center Professor Speaks on "The Dynamics of Transnational Organized Crime in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic"

On May 5, 2021 Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo spoke on “The Dynamics of Transnational Organized Crime in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic” for the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly (EUROLAT) Working Group on Security, Transnational Organized Crime and Terrorism. The discussion examined how transnational criminal organizations are adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic and threatening security in Europe and Latin America and explored possible legislative initiatives to enhance government responses to combat criminal networks and promote more international cooperation and assistance. The European-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly (EuroLat) is an international body made up of 150 parliamentarians from European and Latin American countries. It was created in 2006 to improve and promote relations between Latin America and Europe.
