On October 6, the Perry Center hosted the webinar, “Climate Migration and Security in the Western Hemisphere” which was attended by nearly 280 participants. Guest speaker Dr. Robert Muggah, co-founder of the Igarapé Institute, provided a comprehensive overview on climate-related threats, climate migration and displacement trends. The discussion also focused on global, regional, and national responses. Moderated by WJPC Professor of Practice, Dr. Bill Godnick, the webinar offered simultaneous interpretation into Spanish and Portuguese allowing for a robust participation from 35 countries throughout the region.
