On December 2, 2023, Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo participated in the first cyber crisis simulation exercise for women, titled “Digital Empowerment: Decisions in the Age of Cybersecurity.” The exercise was led by the Vice Minister of Defense, Ana Catalina Cano, and involved more than 60 high-ranking women from Colombia’s Army, Navy, Air Force, police and the Ministry of Defense. The five exercise scenarios addressed critical infrastructure protection, malware, ransomware, data breaches and distribution and were intended to raise awareness of the broad spectrum of cybersecurity threats to Colombia.
