On July 16, the Perry Center hosted an organizational briefing and academic exchange for the Dominican Republic’s Graduate School of Advanced Strategic Studies (Escuela de Graduados de Altos Estudios Estratégicos – EGAEE) Master’s program in Defense and National Security Program. The 42-person delegation included 34 students, representing a range of government and non-government fields, such as law, accounting, business, engineering, national police, public health, journalism, and politics. The delegation was led by Brigadier General Luis Francisco de Leon Rodriguez, EGAEE Director. Following opening remarks by Perry Center Dean John Thompson, the group heard an organizational briefing by Professor Guillermo Pacheco and a presentation on “Developing a National Security Strategy” by Professor Pedro de la Fuente. Perry Center Director Mark Wilkins offered closing remarks.
