The Perry Center was honored to welcome Colombian Minister of Defense Diego Molano on Friday. During his visit, Minister Molano discussed Colombia’s Artemisa campaign with Acting Director, Jeffrey Murphy, Perry Center faculty, and members of the Colombian delegation. The Artemisa campaign is the Colombian government’s strategy to protect the environment and abide by the agreement reached at COP26 held in Scotland in November 2021. Colombia has adopted an ambitious agenda to mitigate the effects of climate change, which includes reducing GHG emissions by 50% by 2030, transitioning to a carbon neutral country by 2050, declaring 30% of national territory as protected, and reducing deforestation to zero by 2030.
