On Friday, August 5, the Perry Center, in partnership with the Brazilian Escola Superior de Guerra (ESG), concluded its Policies and Strategies in the Face of Complex Threats (CPEAC 2022) course.
Nearly 50 participants comprised of military officers and civilians, including 17 women, from different service branches and government agencies related to security and defense attended the two-week academic event with the objective of defining, addressing, and strategically planning for the impact of complex threats on modern states and their respective societies.
During the inaugural session of the course, ESG Commandant Lieutenant General Adilson Carlos Katibe commented that he was “thankful to the Perry Center for the extraordinarily remarkable and unparalleled academic contribution to ESG.”
Throughout this two-week course (which started with an intensive weeklong virtual phase), participants were divided into five working groups to collaborate on issues raised in the course material, presentations, and discussion. Addittionally, they were asked to present a final written work on the themes discussed during the virtual phase.
