From November 27 to 30 the Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies engaged in various academic programs in Asunción, Paraguay. Forty-five officials from the defense and other sectors participated in a three-day workshop on White Papers, organized with the Consejo de Defensa Nacional (National Defense Council – CODENA) and the Ministry of Defense. CHDS faculty also presented lectures on the International Relations of Latin America and the Inter-American System at the American University and the Metropolitan University. As part of this visit to Asuncion, CHDS Professors Pedro de La Fuente, Michael Gold-Biss, and Guillermo Pacheco Gaitan met with the CHDS local Alumni Chapter.
