During the five-day course, Perry Center Professors Celina Realuyo and David Spencer delivered presentations on the global struggle against drug trafficking and organized crime, the evolution of terrorism, social violence in Latin America, and the transnational convergence of terrorism, insurgency, and crime. The 40 participants included representatives from Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, and the United States. Perry Center Acting Director Ken LaPlante attended the final day of the course and ESDEGUE Director Major General Javier Fernandez, ESDEGUE Deputy Director Rear Admiral Luis Tovar, and SOCSOUTH Commander General Sean Mulholland spoke at the closing ceremony.
