Alicia Torres-Ferrer Retires from Federal Service after 37 years

In a retirement ceremony which took place on January 3, 2018, the Perry Center Studies bid farewell to Alicia Torres-Ferrer. One of the Perry Center’s first employees, she has dedicated more than 20 years to developing and supporting the Perry Center’s mission.

In 1981, Ms. Torres-Ferrer entered Federal Service and began her career as part of the National Puerto Rico Forum. She later served in the Department of State, the Department of Agriculture, and subsequently, the Department of Defense. At the Perry Center, Ms. Torres-Ferrer served in multiple administrative and leadership capacities in which she provided excellent support to the faculty, staff, and academic programs.

The Perry Center’s Acting Director, Mr. Jeffrey Murphy, honored Ms. Torres-Ferrer with the Defense Security Cooperation Agency Director’s Award for Excellence in recognition for her contributions to the Center over the past 20 years. We wish Ms. Torres-Ferrer the best of luck as she retires from federal service!
