Last Tuesday on July 21, the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies hosted a webinar on Governance in the Security and Defense Sector Amid a Pandemic. Participating in the webinar as keynote presenters were Perry Center Professor Dr. Boris Saavedra and former Perry Center Professor Dr. Michael Gold-Biss. Both Dr. Saavedra and Dr. Gold-Biss presented an analysis on governance in security and defense and the regional and global impact of accelerated exponential technology during the COVID-19 crisis. This engagement introduced civilian and military leaders to several capabilities concepts especially the most current capacity management models as tools for resource allocation during the pandemic. Over 100 Perry Center Alumni participated in the event and directly engaged with Dr. Saavedra and Dr. Gold-Biss eager to learn about the effect of COVID-19 on cyberspace and governability on a global scale.
