On November 4, a delegation from Paraguay’s Instituto de Altos Estudios Nacionales (Institute for Advanced Strategic Studies – IAEE) visited the Perry Center for an organizational briefing and academic exchange. The delegation included 50 students and 5 faculty and administrators from IAEE’s Master’s Program in Planning and National Strategy. The group was headed by IAEE’s Director-General, Major General Rogelio Cano Mendoza, Deputy Director-General Colonel César Ramón León Barrios, Academic Director Colonel Julio César Garay Flores, and two course professors, Colonels Lider Asunción Benegas Ruiz and Herminio Gill Molinas.

Perry Center Academic Dean Luis Bitencourt greeted the visitors and provided an organizational briefing and lecture on challenges in the current security and defense environment, and Professor David Spencer provided a lecture on US foreign policy toward the Western Hemisphere.
