The Perry Center co-hosted a three-day Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Seminar with the Panamanian Ministry of Public Security, the National Aeronaval Service of Panama, and the United States Embassy in Panama which took place from 5-7 February. Vice Minister of Public Security Ivor Pitti Hernandez presided over the opening ceremony and welcomed 55 participants representing a variety of organizations from both the public and private sectors.

WJPC professors Celina Realuyo and Boris Saavedra provided lectures on threats to the financial sector’s critical infrastructure and policy recommendations to protect it. Guest professors Marc Asturias and Rodolfo Castro spoke about the vulnerabilities of the critical infrastructure landscape, including nuclear power plants, port facilities, and smart airport systems.
