On, July 22, 33 professionals graduated from the Perry Center’s cyber course, “Cybersecurity Policy in the Americas: Challenges for Policy-Strategic Analysis,” led by Perry Center Professor, Dr. Boris Saavedra. New Perry Center director, Dr. Paul Angelo, congratulated the graduates and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Cyber Policy Mieke Eoyang provided keynote remarks, noting that the course training and collaborative conversations about how to defend the digital domain are “very important contributions to our collective security.”

During the residential portion of the course, participants engaged with distinguished speakers, participated in a cyber threat simulation, and presented policy proposals to address cyber threats.

The 33 graduates represented 11 countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, and Peru. Of them, 12 came from a military background and 21 from a civilian background. They join a dynamic network of Perry Center graduates that work to strengthen regional security across the Americas every day. Congratulations to our new graduates!
