On October 30, National Defense University and the Perry Center received a visit from the Brazilian Air Force School’s Airspace Politics and Strategy Course. They were greeted by NDU President Major General Gregg Martin, who discussed cooperation opportunities with Brazilian Air Force General Dirceu Noro (Commander of Education and Training) and Major General Maximo Ballatore (Commander of the Air and Staff Command School). The visiting Brazilian delegation included thirty-eight Air Force officers, two Navy captains, and one Army colonel.

Academic Dean Luis Bitencourt receives the Order of Aeronautical Merit

Brazil’s Minister of Defense Celso Amorim granted Dean of Academic Affairs Luis Bitencourt the Order of the Aeronautical Merit, the Brazilian Air Force’s highest decoration awarded to “civilian and military personalities, Brazilian or alien, (…) in recognition for remarkable services rendered to the Brazilian Air Force.”
