On October 27, 2026, the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies hosted the fourth webinar in its 2026 Webinar Series, focused on Argentina’s “Tribuna Segura” (Safe Grandstands) program. The event brought together 163 participants for a discussion on security challenges at the intersection of organized crime and professional sports.

Guest speaker Mr. Franco Berlin, National Security Director of Sporting Events at Argentina’s Ministry of Security, provided an in-depth overview of the program and Argentina’s efforts to address the influence of organized crime in professional sports.

The webinar provided an opportunity for regional practitioners and Perry Center alumni to exchange perspectives on transnational criminal threats, strengthen professional connections, and explore approaches to enhancing security cooperation across the hemisphere.
