Steve Meyers - Honduras Event 1On March 11, Perry Center Executive Liaison Officer to USSOUTHCOM Steve Meyer presented a Perry Center overview to an Army South–sponsored Civil-Military Relations Professional Development Exchange at the Honduran Defense Ministry. These overviews serve as the foundation for institutional relationship-building, bringing the mission and resources of the Perry Center to new audiences and partners. Participants included members of the Honduran Armed Forces, National Police, inter-agency, and NGOs.

Steve Meyers - Honduras Event 2There were three attendees with prior DOD Regional Center relationships: Gustavo Adolfo Amador of the Honduran Joint Staff graduated from the CHDS-IADC Amistad course, Colonel Carlos Portillo of the Honduran Air Force is a graduate of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, and Colonel Juan Carlos Gomez Garcia of the Honduran army is a current student in a Perry Center program at the Honduran Defense University. All five DOD regional centers work in concert to further the mission of the US government through education, outreach programs, and research. It is a testament to the quality of the Regional Centers’ global reach and capacity for relationship-building that graduates from all centers remain at the forefront of the profession of security and defense.
