Perry Center Professor Delivers Keynote Address at Naval Special Warfare Command

Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo had the privilege of speaking on “Leveraging the Financial Instrument of National Power to Combat Terrorism and Crime” and on “The Convergence of Terrorism and Crime – A Case Study of ISIL” as a keynote speaker for the Joint Special Operations University Counter Threat Finance course at the Naval Special Warfare Command in Coronado, CA, home of the US Navy SEALS.

The Counter Threat Finance course is intended to provide students with a deeper understanding at the strategic, operational and tactical use of financial intelligence and the offensive and defensive aspects of counter threat finance to combat current and evolving asymmetrical threats, including terrorism and transnational criminal networks.

The 48 participants in the course included representatives of Naval Special Warfare, Army Special Operations, including 7th Group, Marine Special Operations, civil affairs officers, intelligence analysts and law enforcement agents from the DEA and Secret Service.
