Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo testified before the House Financial Services Committee Task Force to Investigate Terrorism Financing on June 23rd to discuss the importance of public-private sector partnerships at a hearing on “The Next Terrorist Financiers: Stopping Them Before They Start.” This final hearing of the Task Force summarized the two-year efforts of the committee to investigate the methods, locations, organizations, and financial mechanisms that terrorists utilize to fund their activities. Five witnesses who previously testified before the Task Force recapped the history and current state of terror finance and the methods used to combat it, as well as discuss ways governments will need to change their efforts as new illicit finance threats appear.
