Fourteen Participants from the Combating Transnational Organized Crime section of the 2015 Security and Defense Policy course attended a Congressional briefing on “Cuba and Venezuela: Human Rights, National Security, and US Foreign Policy” at the Rayburn Office Building.
Although several Congresspeople were unable to participate due to the vote for the next Speaker of the House of Representatives, the group had the opportunity to meet and hear Cuban-American Representative lleana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) from the House Committee on Foreign Affairs speak on the human rights record of Cuba and Venezuela.
