On Tuesday, September 13, the Perry Center had the pleasure of hosting General Luis Roberto do Carmo Lourenco, Vice-Admiral Renato Rohwer Santos, Maj Gen (ret.) Carlos Henrique Teche, and 115 students from the Brazilian Defense College. The group was greeted by NDU President, Lt Gen Michel Plehn, before being welcomed by Perry Center Deputy Director, Jeffrey Murphy, who offered opening remarks highlighting the strong academic partnership between the Perry Center and the Brazilian Defense College (ESD), Brazilian War College (ESG), and most recently, Brazilian Naval War College (EGN). Perry Center Dean, Dr. Scott Tollefson, presented information about the center, and Perry Center Professor, Dr. Luis Bitencourt, discussed U.S. engagement in Latin America.
