On August 8, the Perry Center was honored to host a visit by Peruvian Minister of Defense and Perry Center alumnus, Dr. Jorge Luis Chavez Cresta. Minister of Defense Chavez Cresta was welcomed by National Defense University President Lieutenant General Michael Plehn and Perry Center Deputy Director Ruben Lopez. Minister of Defense Chavez Cresta and his delegation received an orientation briefing and met with Perry Center faculty and staff. The Perry Center has numerous academic partnerships with Peruvian institutions, including the Centro de Altos Estudios Nacionales (CAEN), Centro de Estudios Estratégicos del Ejército del Perú (CEEEP), Centro de Estudios Estratégicos en Defensa y Seguridad (CEEDS), the Peruvian Army, ESAN Graduate School of Business, and the Peruvian Naval Postgraduate School’s CEDEYAC course.
