On March 9, 2017 Florida International University Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy, Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center and the US Army War College hosted a Hemispheric Conference on Security in the Changing Geopolitical Landscape in Miami, FL with over 100 participants. US Southern Command Deputy Military Commander Lieutenant General Joseph DiSalvo was the keynote speaker for the conference emphasizing the need to counter transnational threat networks. Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo spoke on threat finance in Latin America and the Caribbean.
