Latin American Police Academy Forum

On December 8, 2023, Perry Center professors Boris Saavedra and William Godnick made virtual presentations to the first meeting of Latin American Police Academies hosted by the Metropolitan Police Academy of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Dr. Saavedra participated in a panel discussion on the importance of including cyber security in police formation activities while Dr. Godnick shared his research on the security and human rights challenges of Latin America’s prisons. The event was organized by the Director of the Metropolitan Police Academy, and Perry Center alumnus, Hector Quilantan (Human Rights and Rule of Law, 2023) and also included presentations by six other members of the Perry Center alumni community from Mexico and Argentina.
