Perry Center Bids Farewell to Visiting Professor from Brazil

Prof. Humbero LourençãoOn December 13, Visiting Professor Humberto Lourenção gave a presentation to the Perry Center staff and faculty, summarizing the preliminary conclusions of the research he conducted during his four-month residency at the Center. He presented on “The Challenges and Opportunities Facing US-Brazil Defense Relations.” Professor Lourenção will return to Brazil this month to resume his position at the Brazilian Air Force Academy, where he has been a professor since 1997. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy and psychology, a Master’s degree in political science, and a PhD in Sociology. Professor Lourenção is also a Perry Center graduate, having completed the October 2001 Defense Planning and Resource Management course. During his stay at the Center, Professor Lourenção fully participated in the Center’s activities with the faculty faculty and staff, including courses, events, and guest lectures.
