On April 22, professors Celina Realuyo and Boris Saavedra were joined by Adjunct Professor and WJPC alumnus Dr. Vicente Torrijos for the launch of a new webinar series that will explore the implications and impacts of COVID-19 in Latin America and the Caribbean. Celina Realuyo provided an overview of the series, highlighting how the pandemic has affected public health, economic prosperity, public security, and organized crime. The main presentation was given by Boris Saavedra who discussed the greatest cybersecurity challenges posed by COVID-19, followed by commentary from Vicente Torrijos who added further regional context to the discussion. Invited participants from the alumni community took part in a moderated question and answer session afterward.
