Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo guest lectured for the Comprehensive Security Responses to Terrorism Course at the Daniele K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI-APCSS) via video conference. She spoke before an audience of over 100 students on “The Financial Instrument of National Power: Following the Money to Combat Terrorism and Crime” and focused on the terrorist financing case studies of Lebanese Hezbollah and ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant. The dynamic question and answer session included queries from representatives from Pakistan, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Colombia, and India. This four-week course brings together in Honolulu mid-career security practitioners, from the Asia-Pacific region to better understand the phenomenon of terrorism and devise strategies to counter terrorism at the national, regional, and international levels.
