Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo participates in Fuerzas Mando Seminar in Guatemala

From July 21 to 23, Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo participated as a guest speaker and panelist at the Fuerzas Mando 2015 Distinguished Visitors Seminar on “The Fight Against Transnational Organized Crime” in Antigua, Guatemala. The seminar brought together 60 senior military and civilian leaders from the United States and 23 Latin American countries – including Perry Center alumni from Belize, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, and Peru.

Additionally, security forces from 19 of the participating countries took part in a skills competition consisting of exercises designed to strengthen military-to-military relationships, expand interoperability, and enhance regional security. Colombia, The United States, and El Salvador placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively in the competition. The event was sponsored by the Guatemalan Ministry of Defense, US Southern Command, and Joint Special Operations University.
