On Wednesday, November 8th, Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo conducted anti-money laundering and counterterrorism finance training to over 50 members of the Financial Intelligence Unit at the Economic Section of the US Embassy in Panama.
The following day, she participated in the Panamanian Ministry of Economy and Finance’s Second Annual Conference on “Reinforcing the Regulatory Regime to Prevent Money Laundering, the Financing of Terrorism and the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction”, where she spoke to over 500 people on the latest trends in money laundering and terrorist financing, to include trade-based money laundering and virtual currencies like bitcoin.
