On September 3, Perry Center Director Mark Wilkins welcomed Major General Kenrick Maharaj, Chief of Defence Staff of Trinidad and Tobago, to a roundtable discussion preceding the Major General’s induction into the National Defense University (NDU) International Hall of Fame. MG Maharaj is a 2005 graduate of NDU’s College of International Security Affairs. Dr. Scott Tollefson, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, served as the moderator for a discussion on shared security challenges and opportunities between the United States and Trinidad and Tobago. MG Maharaj’s delegation included Deputy Chief of Mission from the Embassy of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Colin Connelly, Defence Attaché, Colonel Colin Mitchell, MG Maharaj’s Aide de Camp Lieutenant Commander Sarrette, and Chief Military Liaison Officer of the US Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago, Commander Kevin Austin. Other round table participants included Perry Center Dean of Academic Affairs Luis Bitencourt, Dean of Administration MG (ret.) John Thompson, Professor Michael Gold-Biss, and Visiting Professor Walter Earle.
