On January 25, 2022, Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo spoke on “The Mexican Military’s Expanding Role” at the Wilson Center Mexico Institute’s Tenth Annual US-Mexico Security Conference alongside Dr. Craig Deare, Inigo Guevara, Dr. Cecilia Farfan-Mendez and Ambassador Earl Anthony Wayne. During the conference, experts from Mexico and the US provided a diagnosis of the security challenges facing Mexico, including those with bilateral implications, shared research and analysis on current trends and presented novel policy options to ameliorate the toll on civilian well-being and democratic institutions.
