On August 17, 2021 Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo spoke on the role of the United States in Afghanistan since 2001 at the Universidad de las Americas Puebla (UDLAP) – Jenkins’ virtual roundtable on “Afghanistan: Terrorism and Geopolitical Challenges” for over 700 online participants. The panel discussed the history of Afghanistan, longstanding governance challenges, the role of Afghanistan in global terrorism, the collapse of the Afghan government into the hands of the Taliban and the implications on global security.
