On May 18, 2022, Perry Center Professor Celina Realuyo participated in Florida International University’s 7th Annual Hemispheric Security Conference. She spoke on “The Geopolitical Convergence in Venezuela” describing the Maduro regime’s ability to maintain its illicit economy and circumvent sanctions thanks to their close allies China, Russia and Iran and the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on the Western Hemisphere.
